The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is undertaking this study to formalize a licensing program and establish regulations for Short-Term rentals (STRs). The process to license STRs would include, but is not limited to, pre-screening, registration, meeting building requirements and health and safety protocols. Compliance with this program would be required for the STRs to operate.
We aim to protect the character, amenities and quality of existing residential neighbourhoods, while recognizing the important role that STRs play in local tourism. The regulations will create a level playing field for all STR providers and enhance user protection.
Paper copies of the survey are available at the Municipal Offices and Public Library.
