The location was selected based on community feedback and its ability to meet the priority criteria for safety of park users, ability to minimize potential impact to the environment, as well as the availability of local parking. Ken Laushway

The Ken Laushway site is situated on a minimum of 5 acres with street frontage, this location showcases natural variations that allow for the creation of a challenging disc golf course. With the capacity to accommodate 9 holes, Ken Laushway offers the potential to create an atmosphere to enhance the game experience and for a more intermediate level of play.

Challenges associated with this location include the availability of parking and would require careful planning to ensure a seamless experience for participants and trail users. Additionally, we understand the importance of environmental stewardship, and we encourage responsible course layout and management to minimize any potential impact on the natural surroundings.

Greenwood

Greenwood has convenient parking options in the neighbourhood vicinity and street frontage, this site offers ease of access and ease of navigation for participants. Course location can be situated away from park amenities to reduce the potential impact on other park users. A more simplistic course layout will allow for a beginner-friendly disc golf experience with the potential to increase course difficulty in the future. Minimal impact to the natural environment is anticipated due to the existing landscape.

A challenge of this site selection is the site is not large enough to accommodate 9 holes. We welcome feedback if a smaller course with fewer holes (i.e., 3-6 holes) would be supported. You can let us know in the survey below.

Lehman’s Pond

Lehman's Pond has a minimum of 5 acres and street frontage, providing ample space for a challenging disc golf course. The natural variations in the landscape enhance the gameplay experience, while its capacity to accommodate 9 holes ensures a comprehensive and engaging disc golf opportunity.

Challenges with this site are that potential tree clearing and environmental considerations may arise during the course design process. We understand the importance of environmental stewardship, and we encourage responsible course layout and management to minimize any potential impact on the natural surroundings. The location would require careful planning to ensure a seamless experience for participants and trail users.

Byers Pond
