Stouffville is excited to announce the development of its new Cultural Hub in the heart of downtown, supported by a $188,000 grant from the My Main Street Community Activator program. This project will bring vibrant art installations, public events, and beautification efforts to Main Street and Civic Square, further enhancing Stouffville’s lively community spaces.

Key highlights include interactive light activations, such as a selfie station with illuminated wings and a photo swing, and the installation of two murals—a wall mural at 4042 Main Street and a ground mural along the Sculpture Walk. The project also supported the 2024 Patio Series at 19 on the Park, featuring live music performances that brought the community together.

The Cultural Hub aims to enrich daily life in Stouffville, attract visitors, support local businesses, and foster a stronger sense of belonging and pride among residents.

MURAL PROJECTS

The Town of Stouffville and STEPS Public Art have been working together to cultivate more art and culture in Stouffville. After an exploratory walk throughout the downtown area with a Steering Committee, potential sites and public art initiatives were identified to transform underutilized spaces and meaningfully engage residents and visitors alike.

Two new public art installations are coming to Stouffville:

● A ground mural by artist Kseniya Tsoy that animates the pathway of the existing Stouffville Sculpture Walk to enhance wayfinding with artwork that reflect Stoufville’s urban and rural communities

● A 904 square foot mural by artist Julia Prajza that transforms a parking lot into a welcoming landmark that can’t be missed!

About the Artists

Kseniya Tsoy is an award-winning community-engaged artist and muralist based in Toronto and working across Ontario. In the community, she is probably best known for her whimsical and bright murals. Kseniya uses bold colours, simple shapes and uplifting messages to create murals that inspire joy.

Julia Prajza (a Muralist, Lettering Artist, and Designer based in Toronto) is dedicated to infusing joy and colour into our everyday lives. A graduate of OCAD University (BDes) in 2013, she channels her passion for public and community-engaged art. Julia's distinctive style is characterized by vibrancy and playfulness, often infused with a whimsical charm, and frequently explores themes of nature, patterns, and text-based imagery. By seamlessly blending organic shapes with a bold, graphic approach, Julia invites viewers to observe our surroundings more closely, uncovering magic in the details, and embracing the wonder of the little moments that surround us.
